i did a test for the final project and i shot it under the pvr (driessen). i just moved around my studentcard (the back of it) and experimented with motion and simple stills and repeats. in the end i looped it twice. i am not happy with the result, it is utterly boring, and stifled movement.

i am kind of mulling about the format that the last and final project will take. it might be just a figure coming up in the elevater of the south building, which is shown by eyes being seen in the round glasses of the elevator, either twice or four times or three, i am not quite sure how that works, then a walk thru the painting studio, by a show named "i'd rather be in the garden" (which is by the way the best exhibition in the lowermainland, check it out, 4th floor southbuilding eci), then coming down the stairs , view of bridges, then back to library and look at the same animation in the tv in the library, so the story is kind of framed and too banal. id rather make an animation that engages with bigger issues.

third post

so now i am tired of sitting in front of the computer and thus i will go 4 a walk and then come up with the concept 4 the final project later on, in time.

second post

while i am munching on my powerbar, i am contemplating about the format of the animation, bikes are too complicated, so are swimmers, but stickfigures running, we can do that, easily. The powerbar is much too strong and sweet, it is disgusting. Maybe that is why it was free. The computer her in the ubc ams does not have a scanner, thus maybe i can jot down the concept using this wordpad software. runner 1, runner 2, tiny runner, really tiny runner, HUGE RUNNER, middle-sized racer, bold and wide racer, italic racer, indistinguishable racer. a little bit less indistinguishable racer.

first post ever

i am sitting @ ubc and trying 2 figure out what to include in my final project or in other words what the subjectmatter, plot, stori , whatever, will be. because ubc has a triathlon today (it is sunday) and it is raining cats and dogs, i am thinking of making a film called "triathlon @ emily carr" or something like that. Actually the rain did not make me chose this idea, then again, maybe it did. The rain made me do it. I just talked with someone who has something to do with a mountainbike race in squamish and i talked to someone who designs sportjewellery and someone gave me a powerbar and someone gave me a free razor and all the women were of the opinion that it might not be geared towards women (power of advertising, it should be pink) and then i entered a draw for the mountainbike race (they give u a free t-shirt, if yu win, but then again maybe, they just want the mountainbiker-set), anyways, given that i dont really see myself as a future triathalonist (though, mind yu, they have an over 74 age category, so if i start training now, i might eventually become a triathalonistmountainbiker)ok whatever the person at the mountainbikingthingie was very impressed that i am an animator and i draw stickfigures, thus maybe i should do that, draw an animation with stickfigures racing , and then i will sell it to triathlons all over the world, then marathons, then duathlons, people will buy it for the racer in their lives, personalized animations, after all these are all people with too much time nad too much money and what do they do when they recover from injuries, they watch animations about triathlons.
